Jane McDermott, a Boston native, paid her literary dues writing marketing copy for about 30 years. A resident of the Bay Area since 1979, she holds a BFA in filmmaking from the San Francisco Art Institute and an MFA in creative writing from San Francisco State University. Her book Look Busy: One hundred 100-word stories by and for the easily distracted won the Michael Rubin Book Award and was published by Fourteen Hills Press in 2014.
